Report on Meeting 27th November 2025
In a change to the original programme due to ill health of our original presenter, and also that of a replacement presenter, our Chair set a challenge. Participants were given two 2″x2″x10″ pieces of wood, and asked to make one thing at home, and then to make another of the same thing during the evening. We ended up with some small vases, some Christmas decorations and a scoop. As usual the turners had different amounts of experience.

Due to ill health there is a change to tonight’s programme. Nick has chosen some turners to make a piece at home from a supplied piece of wood. They will then have a matching piece of wood to make a copy of whatever they did at home. No serious competition but a bit of fun!

Report on Meeting 13th November 2025
The theme this evening was chosen by Alan Smith, who also chose the turners. The Theme was Goblets, and the turners varied from complete beginners to the most experienced. Different techniques were shown and lessons learned

Alec demonstrated making very thin pieces using freshly cut Alder and a light bulb inside the piece.

Errol led us through a meeting where members could bring pieces of work to show others and discuss. This could be showing some creativity, skill, technique or asking for advice.
