Meeting Report 17th September 2026

Tonight’s meeting was part 2 of Alec’s demonstration of making a Skeleton clock. The main theme was removing the centre of the blank, turning the base, and then the preparation for and assembly of the base and mechanism.

The result is :

Removing the centre- cut part the way through while in the chuck and then reversed into Coal jaws for the rest.
Making sure the mechanism fits and isn’t too tight.
Remounting and forming the base.
Finishing the base
Marking the area to be sanded/ sawn off to marry with the base
Pinning in the mechanism
