Our Meeting on the 23rd December 2021 was our annual Christmas raffle draw, we had a total of 75 prizes to be drawn, 31 of which were donated by the membership, the rest were purchased by Jim Kelman from club funds supplied by our treasurer Cliff Sim. The sale of the Christmas Raffle tickets started back at the end of September and we continued to sell tickets at every meeting up to and including the 23rd of December, it was hugely successful netting our club a total of £393.50 towards our club funds. A huge thank you goes out to all those who donated prizes and those who purchased the raffle tickets.

Our meeting this week on Thursday 23rd December 2021 is our annual Christmas Raffle draw, there will be no turning at this meeting, it will be just the raffle draw, prior to the draw I will be making a short summary of what has happened over the last few months and also outlining what’s likely to happen over the next few months, all of which will be subject to change as we are still in the middle of the pandemic and the government may change things with little or no warning, so to keep up to date with what’s happening do regular checks on this page or our facebook page, if we get any more information from the government it will be posted on both platforms and Geoff may send everyone an email of any changes.

Start time of 6.45pm
Our meeting this week on Thursday 9th December 2021 is going to be a demonstration by Andy Walters, Andy is going to be demonstrating how to make a Candle Lantern. Being that I was unsure of what Andy meant by saying he would make a Candle Lantern, I asked him to send me a couple of pictures if he had them, the pictures duly arrived and you can see them below.
Andy is the proprietor of Black Isle Woodturning and runs training classes for would be turners, most of his other work is from commissions, Andy has demonstrated for our club on several occasions over the years and was asked by Jim Kelman to do a demo in 2020 which was cancelled due to the Covid restrictions, however Andy will be attending this time and we hope you enjoy his presentation.
