Report on Meeting 2nd October 2025
Two things happened tonight.
1: Judging of the last round of the Shield Competition.
There were a disappointing numbers of entries. ( I guess people preferred to look at real fruit) Some of which are shown below.
2 : Keith and Nick arranged some woodturners to make some decorations.
Report on Meeting 7th August 2025
This evenings theme was ” Plates” . The meeting coincided with the Black Isle show, which didnt make it easy to get to Munlochy. We managed to occupy 4 lathes with turners of differing skills, from Novice to Experienced. This meant that there was something for everyone, to both learn from and offer advice to.
Tonight’s meeting was also a round in the Shield competition, and judges allocated points to earring stands in the 3 categories: Novice, Intermediate and Open.

Doors open from 6pm.

It is also the the third competition night. Bring your Earring Stands to be judged in the Novice, Intermediate or Open Categories.

Report on our meeting 03-04-2025 the first of our shield competitions for 2025.
In charge of competitions for the club is David Hobson, the subject matter for this competition was to make a money box, all 3 categories of members were tasked with the same remit. This was not as easy as it first appears the making of a money box using a lathe requires some considerable consideration, and there were precious few examples on line for you to copy, this was going to be very interesting to see exactly what the members would come up with.

Report on our Christmas Competition and Grand Raffle draw.
Our meeting on Thursday 12th December 2024 was our last meeting for 2024, it culminated in also being the last Competition for 2024, a stand alone Competition where anyone can enter anything they had made this year.
